    Learn About ATV Insurance

ATV Insurance has multiple facets of coverage. Below, we explain to you each coverage for ATV  insurance, so you can make the most informed decision in the type of ATV insurance you need. Classic Insurance can help you pick the best insurance coverage for you.

    ATV Off-Road Vehicle Insurance Quotes

Riding your all terrain vehicle (ATV) can be fun and exciting, but it can also be dangerous and costly if you do not have the proper ATV insurance. ATV insurance comes in a variety of packages, and getting the right package, at the right price, should be a priority for anyone who travels on an ATV. Many states have now mandated certain types and coverage levels for ATV insurance. This is the best place to start when you need to provide insurance for your vehicle. Once you know what your state requires, you can shop for the best value. It is important to remember that not all homeowner policies cover ATV's even if the vehicle is being operated on the owner's property. Homeowner's insurance will certainly not cover you or your vehicle if you happen to ride off the property. You can count on that.

Most Off-Road Vehicle Insurance packages cover recreational uses only. If you use your off-road vehicle in a commercial setting, consider Commercial Vehicle Insurance or an appropriate specialty insurance product.

    Basic types of ATV insurance:

    ATV Insurance: Comprehensive Coverage

Generally, comprehensive insurance pays when there is some form of damage done to the vehicle. However, in most cases, it does not pay for damages that occur during a collision. Comprehensive is used when damages are caused by such things as fires, floods, theft, storms, and vandalism. Normally, you will pay the deductible and the ATV insurance will pay for the rest.

    ATV Insurance: Collision Coverage

Collision coverage comes into play when there is damage to your ATV through a collision. The collision can occur with another vehicle, a parked vehicle, tree, rocks and tree stumps, and things of that nature. Again, you will need to pay the agreed upon deductible, but then the collision insurance takes care of the rest. Keep in mind that ATV collision coverage does not normally pay for minor scratches or dings to the vehicle as these vehicles are often driven in wild and remote areas and slight damages such as this are considered normal wear and tear.

ATV Insurance: Property Damage and Bodily Injury Liability

These are two of the most important types of ATV insurance to have at all times. These types of insurances pay when someone is hurt or killed as a result of your actions or when damage has been done to other people's property. Without this insurance, you can be sued in court and lose everything that you own, including your home and other assets. Many US states have established minimum levels of coverage for both bodily injury and property damage insurance. In some states, you will not be able to register your ATV until you can show proof of insurance. Operating the ATV on public roads without insurance can lead to arrest, confiscation of the vehicle, and other legal issues.

    ATV Insurance: Uninsured Motorist Coverage

There may be occasions when someone who does not have insurance (or not enough insurance) damages your ATV or injures you and your passengers. With uninsured motorist coverage, your insurance company will help pay the costs of damages and injuries. As mentioned above, first learn what your state requirements are and then shop for the best ATV insurance coverage at the best price.

    Things To Think About

How much off-road activity do you do? Where do you ride? Do you do it alone? Do you have the correct equipment? Does your policy cover other riders, or only you?
